We have between 30,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Apx 95% of these thoughts are the same thoughts we had yesterday! And most of these 30,000-60,000 thoughts are mundane or negative. (So it’s no wonder it can seem hard to change our lives if we’re thinking the same things every day!)
If you want to create a better life, it’s essential you turn these crazy thoughts around so you can feel more joy and freedom and stop the waste in your head.
How to do it?
The first thing to realize is you can’t stop the first thought from coming. Our mind is like a huge train station and our thoughts are like trains arriving in the station. We can’t stop the trains from arriving because they are the same trains that arrived yesterday and the day before and the day before. They are habitual thoughts. They emerge out of habit without us doing anything.
However, the good news is we can CHANGE our thoughts. When these trains of thought arrive in the station of our awareness we do have a CHOICE. We can choose which train to board and which ones to ignore.
We can’t stop the first negative thought from arriving, but we can choose which trains to board and where we want to travel. We don’t need to think negative thoughts. Negative thoughts are optional. They are just one option among many other possible thoughts. We can focus our attention and choose where we direct our energy. And that is 100% our responsibility. That is where the power is.
Ask yourself: Do I (really) want to continue this negative thought? Do I want to go down this road?
Or Is there something better? What you DO I want to experience? What do I want to focus on?
Start giving your energy to that new thought and and the old train of negative thoughts will pass by.
To make this easy can think mantras in your mind.
Thinking powerful thoughts over and over and over again will empower your mind and overcome those old programs. For example you could think: “I am a powerful soul” or “I am healthy, wealth and happy” or “I am an embodiment of bliss’. This last one is one of my personal favorites.
Pick a thought you like – then repeat it over and over and over in your mind, with FEELING. Do it at least 108 times. Aim for doing it all day long. TRY IT! You’ll feel the difference. It’s AMAZING! Think powerful thoughts, that bring you joy over and over and over and over again. And ENJOY!
